Great American Winners

We recently attended the Great American Beer Festival, the biggest weekend of American craft beer calendar, where we watched in pride as five of our supplier partners took home medals. We take a great deal of pride in the quality of the beers we sell to the good people of Ohio and Kentucky and it’s always a joy to see our brewers get the national recognition they deserve.

So without further ado, be on the lookout for these award winning beers at a purveyor of fine craft beer near you.

 "/ VictoryGolden Monkey
GOLD in the Belgian-Style Tripel category

Strong and sensual, this golden Belgian-style ale glows with goodness. The richness of imported malts and Belgian yeast are tempered by a sparkling approach and overall light body. Considerable depth of character with abundant, herbal, fruity notes make this one beer you’ll want to savor.
SILVER in the Belgian-Style Witbier category

A uniquely refreshing and a uniquely Ommegang take on an old-fashion style, this Witte is less sweet than you’ll typically see from a beer in this style which gives it more of a wheat tang in the finish. Flavorful, soft, and hazy, it’s brewed with malted and unmalted wheat, orange peel, and coriander creating a refreshing beer that showcases the Belgian talent for brewing full-flavored ales that are also light and balanced.
   UintaCutthroat Pale Ale
SILVER in the Ordinary or Special Bitter category

Malts and hops mingle harmoniously in this traditional style pale ale creating a beer that is so versatile, you can drink it with just about any type of food. Rich amber in color, Cutthroat Pale Ale is slightly fruity with carmel and molasses notes and a clean hop finish.  As Uinta’s flagship beer, this is just another in a long line of awards and medals from beer competitions around the world.
  Avery  – The Kaiser
SILVER in the German-Style Doppelbock or Eisbock category

The third installment in Avery’s Dictator Series, The Kaiser is everything that’s good in a traditional Oktoberfest – gorgeous, deep copper sheen, massive malty backbone, and spicy, floral pungent noble hops – intensified. The result, is an Imperial Oktoberfest that couldn’t be a more perfect match for all your favorite German festival foods.
  ShinerShiner Bock
BRONZE in the American-Style Dark Lager category

This may be the old man of the group but this medal is a testament to the fact Shiner Bock still has a thing or two to teach all those young whipper-snappers out there. Brewed with rich roasted barley malt and German specialty hops, this lightly hopped American-style dark lager always goes down easy. First brewed as a seasonal beer in 1913, fans have demanded it year-round since 1973.

And finally, a special shoutout to our friends at Deschutes who took home a Bronze medal for their Sage Fight IPA in the Indigenous/Regional Beer category. As the category name would suggest, Sage Fight isn’t available in either Ohio or Kentucky, but taking home a medal shows what we here at Rampant have been saying all along: they sure know how to make beer up there in Bend, Oregon! Congrats to everyone at Deschutes!
