Fresh From Oregon

It’s been a tremendous first year for Deschutes in Ohio and Kentucky but we’re not going to be resting on our laurels for Year 2. No sir! Right out of the gate in January, we’re happy to announce that we’ll be bringing craft beer lovers in the Buckeye and Bluegrass States the newest creation out of Bend, Oregon: Fresh Squeezed IPA.

One of the country’s hottest IPAs, Fresh Squeezed won the America’s Gold from the 2014 World Beer Awards in the IPA category in its very first year of wide release. This mouthwateringly delicious brew gets its flavor from a heavy helping of Citra and Mosaic hops. And we literally mean heavy. Each 145 barrel batch of Fresh Squeezed contains 334 pounds of cumulative hops. The aforementioned Citra (218 lbs) and Mosaic (70 lbs) hops give it its grapefruit, tangerine, and fresh squeezed orange flavors and aromas while a healthy helping of Nugget hops (46 lbs, to be precise) gives it its bitter taste.

Now, this may sound like it’s a hugely hoppy beer but Fresh Squeezed is balanced very well with malts adding caramel and biscuit flavors to create what would be considered a “mid-range” IPA at 60 IBUs.

Fresh Squeezed IPA will be available on tap starting in January anywhere fine craft beer is poured.
