It’s the Great Pumpkin, Ohio!

These days it seems like fall has become consumed by all things pumpkin. While this can certainly take an unfortunate turn (we hope you don’t have to attend any dinner parties where pumpkin spiced lasagna is being served), this is generally a good thing. After all, who doesn’t love pumpkin pie, pumpkin lattes, and, most importantly, pumpkin ale!

One of the stars of Kentucky’s craft beer fall season last year was the excellent Schlafly’s Pumpkin Ale. It will be widely available in Kentucky again this year but now those living north of the Ohio River will be able to partake as well. So beer lovers in Cincinnati and Dayton be on the lookout for this fall classic!

While we pride ourselves on being good salespeople, this beer essentially sells itself. Of all pumpkin ales with at least 400 reviews, Schlafly’s has the highest user rating on and has an outstanding score of 96 from

Schlafly’s Pumpkin Ale blends the spices of the harvest with full-bodied sweetness for a beer that tastes like pumpkin pie. Pounds of pumpkin form a malty foundation that supports the fall flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove.

Schlafly beer is produced by The Saint Louis Brewery, which is Missouri’s largest locally-owned independent brewery. When it first opened its doors in Downtown St. Louis in 1991, it was the first new brewpub to open in Missouri since Prohibition. Today, its beers can be found in 13 states and the District of Columbia (sorry Ohio, you’re out of luck).
